THE *.STA FILES

Colorgramme meteor uses like source of structural data file with .STA extension .
This files STA he generated automatically by WMeteor v 1.0 and   METEOR v 4.0
The structure of this files is very simple and permit the input of all datas types.

ATTENTION : for this moment Cologramme read ONLY the name of STA file in European Format : DAY,MONTH,YEAR !

  1. The Name of file : here is one example :  21112000.STA = 21 November 2000, the name of the file STA indicate the date day per day of the acquisition of datas, in our example he content observations of the 21 november 2000.
  2. The content and organization of the file : the content is very simple and is easy to edit with notepad of Windows, see below.

notepad

On the first colomn the hour of the day 0 to 23 (is the hour of the observation), next one semicolon (separator) and last the data value of your measure.

How to create one STA file from your observations Visual or radio without using METEOR ?

  1. Use a TXT editor as Notepad from Windows, Edit under DOS.

  2. Name your file while respecting the date of observation(ex : 08122000.STA)

  3. Input your data while respecting the order of hours, the semicolon and your values!

  4. Save the file and run Cologramme meteor, ajust the thresholds of visualization is all right !

Here one example of Visual observations of meteors tranlate in STA file and display on colorgarmme :

File 12/08/2000 = 12082000.STA = 12 August 2000
