Local datas source

Local datas source mode is useful if you have Meteor electronic interfacing to observe in real time.
About interfacing see http://radio.meteor.free.fr

ATTENTION it is absolute necessary in Local datas source mode you configure your computer in UT time of Greenwich in Windows Configuration panel parameters to respect UT time and date, click here to see how to configure Windows !

Choose an Com port where this interfacing is connected (Com1,Com2,Com3,Com4). The soft run sampling automatically and the curve is red while this time.( see image 1)

At end of sampling time Colorgramme WMeteor scan the window for one time to find the time per pixel, it is necessary to display correctly the delay value. At end of this process the curve come in green and 2 lines of threshold appear.

Adjust the thresholds ( 40 is a mean ) and adjust the delay ( 3 seconds is a mean ). Delay and thresholds depend of your radio installation and vary from an observer to the other. See your results while 1 week to adjust these parameters.

Detection is effective if the signal jump over thresholds up or down.

RAW check box is for store RAW datas files, available to read next time with Colorgramme, but this files is relatively big...

Live refresh bar indicate refreshing histogram, every 10MN.

Histogram display control is a some command to display or hide the datas in the histogram.

Left printer button is for print the histogram.

What is it, Normal, CSA, CSA B process ?

Normal process is a "classic" detection process of Meteor software. The thresholds is stable while a window scan time. it calculated on previous datas mean. At the end of scan time the new mean is calculated and applied for place the thresholds in the scan window.
In brief the thresholds follow the signal of the window -1
See image 2.

CSA process is a "Controle des Seuils Automatique" in French, in English is "ATC Automatic Thresholds Control"...
This process come from after some remarks of Meteor soft users. These observer demand to me a new process for follow the signal WHILE window scan time to prevent some big variations of the signal. CSA follow effectively the signal while the window scan. The latency delay is the delay that you adjusted.
In brief the thresholds follow the signal while the window scan and the points used for the calculation of the average is the length of the delay.
See image 3

CSA B process is a "ATC B  Automatic Thresholds Control Locked" in English.
As CSA process, CSA B follow the signal while window scan, but if the signal jump over thresholds the thresholds don't follow the signal as in CSA mode. The thresholds is LOCKED at the last value just before the detection.
ATTENTION : This process is good only if you have a "steep front" echoes detected. If the signal vary slowly it is available to locked your detection in up or down of the window for a long time...

Distant datas source

Distant datas source mode is useful if you read DAT files created by another computer using Meteor v 8.1 DOS version or later, or another Colorgramme WMeteor software.

Through an network it is easy to read daily DAT files created by distant software.
Colorgramme WMeteor update all display every 10 mn and save RMOB files and JPG FTP file ready to transfer as if your computer is the "real time acquisition".

If you don't have a network

It is available to realize our real time acquisition on a old computer with Meteor DOS software, and to copy DAT files onto your Colorgramme WMeteor computer.

It is necessary that you copy your DAT files in the "distant" directory that you have selected at the first time.

By default use Colorgramme MWeteor / DATAS / DAT /    subdir.
