Sub-Directory and FILES

 

Below you see sub-directory organisation in main Colorgramme WMeteor directory. The main directory contain the file necessary to running software.

Main directory contain also 2 sub-directory named : img and datas Img contain some BMP images of the planets necessary for the sky map. DATAS contain 5 sub-directory to store the datas. Dat sub-dir contain DAT files img sub-dir contain JPEG image created by the soft ndx sub-dir contain NDX files useful for RAW files raw sub-dir contain RAW files rmob sub-dir contain RMOB files See below for an description of this files.

DATAS files format created by colorgramme WMeteor :

• DAT files is a daily file named with the date in "French" format sorry, question of practices  ;-)
  Example : DAT file of March 10  2003 is named 10032003.DAT  ->  ddMMYYYY.DAT
  This is a TEXT file format easy to edit with text editor as Notepad and the structure of the file is easy to understand.
  All lines is organized as follow :
  time hour and min ; length of echoes in seconds ; length of echoes in pixels ; numbering of echoes ; average of the flux
  separator is semicolon and Interval count, length and for all datas is 1 minute.

  *;*;*;*;*          -> Comment : 5 * separated by semicolon indicate exit of the software.
  DAT file is a fundamental data file of Colorgramme WMeteor. The soft read this files to build all other datas files. If you want to protect something in Colorgramme WMeteor save these files !

• RMOB files is a monthly file named with your observer name (Name not first name) and month and year as follow :
  Name_032003rmob.TXT     Example :  Terrier_032003rmob.TXT  this file is read on the server http://radio.data.free.fr to see some informations about your location ( see Observer area ).
  It is read also by Christian Steyaert to build the monthly RMOB  ->  http://www.rmob.org
  You find 4 RMOB files in RMOB sub-directory example :
  Terrier_032003rmob.TXT   -> contain standard count of meteor echoes while the month.
  Terrier_032003rmob_flux.TXT   -> contain Flux values while the month.
  Terrier_032003rmob_len_p.TXT   -> contain Length of echoes expressed in Pixels while the month.
  Terrier_032003rmob_len_s.TXT   ->contain Length of echoes expressed in seconds while the month.
  Structure of this file is easy to understand if you edit with text editor as notepad.
  You find your OBSERVER parameters at the END of this files.
  
• RAW and NDX files is for store "raw" datas, RAW file is a byte file not readable with text editor and NDX is a text file. Don't modifiy this files to the risk that it doesn't work anymore !
• JPG file in img sub-directory is a JPEG file viewable with all image editor and especially with your browser !

About COLORWM.INI and OBSERVER.INI  files
These 2 files contain your software parameters and observer parameters.
By precautions it is useful to make a copy !
